ORIGINI: Perché nasce il femminismo intersezionale?
Anni ‘70-’80 USA
Il femminismo mainstream dell’epoca era in gran parte bianco, borghese ed eterosessuale. Non rappresentava l’esperienza delle donne nere, povere, lesbiche, disabili, migranti, ecc.

Conia il termine “intersezionalità” per spiegare come le donne nere subiscano discriminazioni simultanee: razzismo e sessismo non si sommano semplicemente, ma si intrecciano creando oppressioni specifiche.

???? IL SENSO ORIGINARIO
L’intersezionalità non era una moda, ma uno strumento analitico per capire:
perché una donna nera povera viene discriminata diversamente da una donna bianca ricca;
come il patriarcato si intreccia con il razzismo, il classismo, l’omofobia, ecc.
Era un invito all’ascolto e alla complessità, non una gara tra “oppressioni”.
⚡️ L’EVOLUZIONE – O INVOLUZIONE?
Negli anni 2000-2020 il concetto ha avuto una forte espansione, specialmente:
nelle università occidentali;
nei movimenti giovanili;
nei social media (soprattutto TikTok, Instagram, Tumblr).
Ma ha anche subito semplificazioni e distorsioni:
✅ Aspetti positivi:
Ha dato voce a soggettività prima escluse.
Ha ampliato la lotta femminista a più dimensioni: identità di genere, orientamento sessuale, etnia, classe, abilità, status migratorio.
Ha alimentato movimenti come Black Lives Matter, NiUnaMenos, MeToo globale.
❌ Aspetti critici:
Identitarismo esasperato: ogni soggetto parla solo per sé, la solidarietà collettiva si frammenta.
Competizione del dolore: chi è “più oppressə” ha più diritto di parola.
Moralismo e cancel culture: si giudicano le persone prima delle idee.
Corporate feminism: grandi aziende e influencer usano il linguaggio dell’intersezionalità per vendere prodotti, svuotandone il senso politico.
Accademizzazione: si trasforma in linguaggio tecnico, elitario, poco accessibile.
???? OGGI: Quale futuro?
Il femminismo intersezionale è diventato egemone nel discorso progressista, ma rischia di essere depotenziato se:
si riduce a una checklist di identità;
perde di vista le lotte materiali: salario, sanità, scuola, violenza.
Alcune voci (anche femministe) chiedono un ritorno al conflitto sociale più che all’auto-narrazione personale.
???? Conclusione
Il femminismo intersezionale non è morto, ma è a un bivio:
può tornare a essere una forza radicale contro tutte le disuguaglianze;
oppure dissolversi in retorica da marketing e micro-conflitti identitari.
