Anno memorabile per il vino italiano. Ai Decanter World Wine Awards 2025, il nostro Paese ha conquistato un risultato da standing ovation: 138 medaglie tra le più prestigiose, tra cui 6 “Best in Show”, 30 Platini e 102 Ori.
Una giuria da capogiro, composta da 248 esperti provenienti da 35 Paesi, tra cui 22 Master Sommelier e 72 Master of Wine, ha valutato migliaia di etichette da tutto il mondo. E l’Italia? Ha lasciato il segno, portando in alto non solo le denominazioni classiche, ma anche terroir meno noti e sempre più sorprendenti.
“Se l’Italia è una vigna, il vino è il suo passaporto più sincero. Ma stavolta brindiamo due volte: al Taurasi, che ha aspettato anni per un sorso di gloria, e al Passito, che ci ricorda che anche il sole può invecchiare bene.”
Se c’è un momento in cui i calici italiani hanno brillato più del solito, è proprio questo. Ai Decanter World Wine Awards 2025, l’Italia non solo ha superato se stessa rispetto al 2024, ma ha compiuto un balzo storico: per la prima volta assoluta, un vino Taurasi DOCG (Campania) e un Passito di Pantelleria (Sicilia) si sono aggiudicati il riconoscimento più ambito di tutti: il Best in Show. Donnachiara, tra le migliori cantine di Campania, con il Taurasi 2021, e un grande Passito di Pantelleria Ben Ryé 2023 della griffe siciliana Donnafugata.
