L’anoressia nervosa é un disturbo alimentare grave e complesso, spesso legato a fattori psicologici, sociali e culturali. Non é una “semplice” volontà di dimagrire, ma una condizione patologica che altera mente e corpo.
DATI ALLARMANTI.
Dati allarmanti:
- Colpisce prevalentemente adolescenti e giovani donne
- Ha un tasso di mortalità tra i più alti tra i disturbi psichiatrici: fino al 10% dei casi può portare al decesso.
- Le morti avvengono per complicanze mediche ( insufficienza multiorganica,arresto cardiaco) o suicidio.
La prevenzione e l’intervento precoce sono fondamentali per ridurre sia l’impatto umano che economico di questa patologia.
Anoressia nervosa: un pericolo silenzioso con casi che possono esitare nel decesso.
Conseguenze fisiche serie:
– Lo stomaco si restringe progressivamente, rendendo difficile la reintroduzione del cibo anche quando si vuole guarire.
– Possono insorgere vomito spontaneo.
Dati allarmanti:

Anoressia nervosa: dati e impatti
– Incidenza: circa il 1-3% degli adolescenti (femmine prevalenti) soffre di anoressia nervosa, con un aumento negli ultimi anni soprattutto tra i 12-18 anni.
Mortalità: l’anoressia ha uno dei più alti tassi di mortalità tra i disturbi psichiatrici, con circa il 10-15% dei casi che muore entro 10 anni dalla diagnosi, principalmente per complicanze cardiache, metaboliche o suicidio (dati aggiornati al 2025).
– Complicanze letali: insufficienza cardiaca, aritmie per squilibri elettrolitici, insufficienza renale, e complicanze da malnutrizione grave.
Costo medio annuale per paziente (2025):
– Il trattamento integrato (psichiatrico, nutrizionale, medico, psicologico) ha un costo medio stimato di circa 10.000-15.000 € all’anno, in cui la Sanità pubblica copre gran parte, ma la famiglia spesso sostiene costi indiretti significativi (terapie, assistenza, trasporti).
– L’efficacia della terapia dipende da un intervento precoce
